First of all, Ive seen all your arguments about why you dont want to support two-factor, but the bottom line is that its not about the security of my password alone, but about authenticating myself to the service Im trying to log into - which they cant do from their end with only a password. If for example, Google were breached, anyone with their database would potentially have my password - so no matter how secure my password was, it wouldnt provide authentication to Google. But if Google saw that this was a new device and asked for a one-time token, my account would still be secure! I plan to use two-factor authentication wherever its offered, and a time-based, one-time token is the most secure way to do this right now. That means I have to use a separate app in order to generate the code. WHY NOT JUST MAKE IT EASIER, AND PUT THAT FUNCTIONALITY INTO THE APP I USE TO RETRIEVE MY PASSWORD! It seems that almost every tenth review is asking for this functionality, and you want to give us everything EXCEPT what we asked for! Also, I LIKE the idea of having an app that allows ME to INDEPENDENTLY control my passwords (with all the responsibility that brings) without allowing for ANY outside recovery, backup or recourse - because thats the most secure way to do it. You guys used to allow us to buy the app once, and manage our own security from then on. Now you seem to be marketing to the lowest common denominator. How about making it easier for those of us who actually care about real security to use your tool to secure our own stuff? I wouldnt mind features like two-factor that allow me to more easily add security to my accounts, but the last thing I want is more ways to share my passwords, or store my passwords online. Also, paying a third party a subscription fee for access to my passwords is wrong on SO many levels - but if you really want to do that, theres always LastPass... For the sake of clarity, 1Password was the first app I paid for on iOS in about 2008, and right now I still have 1Password 3.7.2 and 1Password Pro 3.7.2 on my device alongside the current ones, and I had been using it on the Mac before iOS from about version 1.4.2. However, it seems that over the last 2 years or so, youve been gearing up toward a subscription model, and now that its here, you want to discourage everyone from going standalone. I wouldnt be at all surprised if two years from now, you were subscription only - I see a parallel in the way LogMeIn discontinued Ignition in favor of their new app - which left a lot of people with a bad taste in their mouths. But now I may end up with them since they purchased LastPass, and if I end up having to have a subscription-based password manager, I guess Ill just pay the $12 per year for LastPass rather than 5 times as much for essentially the same thing here. At least with them I wont have to beg for two-factor...
